St Andrean School for Girls
2010 Year Book
The inspiration for the front and back cover designs and the motifs throughout the magazine came from the beautiful, hand-painted Delft tiles used by Sir Herbert Baker in many of the buildings he designed, including Bedford Court.
Creating a yearbook for an all-girls high school as a graphic designer can be a rewarding and creative endeavor.
I had to familiarize myself with the school's culture, values, and traditions.
I collected all the necessary content, including photos, names, quotes, event summaries, and any other relevant information and changes.
I developed design concepts and themes that reflect each section of the school, such as grades, academics, sports, clubs, events, and seniors.
I created layouts that balances these sections and allows for smooth transitions between them.
I edited and enhance photos for quality and consistency including adding people missing from photo day.
I carefully removed backgrounds of images and created elaborate collages and rehand-draw the motifs.
Communication and collaboration with the school community were key to creating a successful yearbook that captured the essence of St Andrews school's unique experiences and memories.
